The Blackfoot River Outpost can host many different types of events. It is a great space for weddings, family reunions, retreats, and workshops.

About the Property:

The Blackfoot River Outpost is located on the Blackfoot river, 20 minutes from Missoula on Highway 200 across the river from Johnsrud Park on the historic McNamara’s Landing.  We have a main lodge with a commercial kitchen, 6 cabins and 6 established campsites on 40 acres on the Blackfoot River. We have 1,100ft of river frontage and are surrounded by public land. There are multiple locations on the property that can accommodate large event tents as well as beautiful locations for ceremonies.

Cabins:

All of the cabins have a bathroom with a shower, a gas fireplace and various sized kitchenettes. Linens and towels are included. The kitchenettes in each cabin include a hot water kettle, plates, bowls, mugs, silverware and some basic cooking ware.  Cabins 2, 4 and 5 now have full ovens and kitchen sinks. Outside each cabin there is a picnic table, a grill and a firepit (fire-restriction dependent).

Cabin #1: Sleeps 3.

One Queen bed, one single bed. 

Cabin #2: Sleeps 7.

Downstairs: 1 bedroom with a Queen bed. Living area with a twin over twin bunk bed.

Upstairs in the loft: a Queen bed and a twin bed. 

Cabin #3: Sleeps 3.

Cabin #4: Sleeps 5.

Downstairs: a day bed in the living area and a bedroom with a Queen bed.

Upstairs in the loft: 2 twin beds. 

Cabin #5: Sleeps 7. 

Downstairs: Open concept, a Queen bed and a twin bed. 

Upstairs in the loft: One king and one full/double bed (mattresses on the floor).

Cabin #6: Sleeps 4*.

Campsites:

  We have 6 “dry” campsites available in prime locations, four of which face the beautiful Blackfoot River.  Campsites #1-#4 overlook the river and have electricity (two household/120V outlets) and each have a water spigot. Campsites #5 and #6 are located along the hillside. All the campsites have picnic tables and fire pits.  Each site can accommodate up to 2 cars or one car and one camper/trailer that is 26’ long or less. Large trailers or RV’s over 26ft long and RV’s that use generators are not permitted unless you are renting the entire property.  We do not have any RV hook-ups.  We also have additional designated areas for overflow “primitive” camping. 

Cabin and Campsite Rentals the Night before and/or after your event

Cabin and campsite rentals for the nights directly before or after your event are available at a rate of 25% off regular pricing. Standard check in and check out times apply (check in 3pm, check out 11am) as well as the 8% Montana lodging tax.
